Hadieda Studio:
Our Journey
Hadieda Studio is a place where creativity takes flight, just like the bird that inspired our name.
It all began in October 2021, in the quiet village of Great Brickhill, Bedfordshire. We found an old cow or pig barn, a rough, quirky space, and transformed it into what became affectionately known as “The Barn.” With two studios under one roof, it quickly became a welcoming home for art and craft enthusiasts of all ages.
About Us
Hadieda was born from a simple idea: to bring more creative opportunities to the Leighton Buzzard area. We noticed there were few places for young people to explore the arts, and even fewer spaces for adults looking for a new hobby or a way to unwind. Cassie, our founder, has always had a deep love for crafts and textiles. A natural teacher at heart, her background as an accomplished chef and food truck owner only strengthened her passion for creating spaces where people could learn, create, and connect.
The name Hadieda (pronounced hah-dee-dah) holds a special place in Cassie’s story. Inspired by the noisy yet beautiful hadeda bird she encountered in South Africa with her South African partner, Justis, it symbolises awakening, new experiences, and the boldness to embrace creativity.
After a wonderful first year, The Barn closed its doors. It was not for lack of spirit, but because the location no longer fit our growing dreams. The search for a new home took time, with nearly two years of hiring halls and temporary spaces, but in May 2025, Hadieda found its new nest.
With a refreshed name, Hadieda Studio, we have reopened in a brand-new permanent home in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Our new studio is still warm, welcoming, and intimate, a cosy space where creativity feels limitless and where everyone, from beginners to seasoned makers, can feel at home.
We are proud to serve not just Leighton Buzzard, but also the wider Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire areas, including Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Bedford, Dunstable, and beyond.
At Hadieda Studio, we believe that now more than ever, there is a need for creative outlets. Spaces that encourage expression, learning, and a little bit of playful mess. We focus especially on textile arts and traditional crafts, offering classes that range from sewing and dressmaking to painting and printmaking.
Whether you are picking up a needle for the first time or returning to an old passion, Hadieda Studio is here to help you stitch, paint, and create your way to something beautiful.
