FABRIC REQUIREMENTS

For this project, you will need approximately 3 metres of fabric. This allows enough for all sizes, plus a little extra for mistakes or adjustments.

If this is your first pair, I recommend choosing a low-cost fabric while you learn the process. Save the more expensive materials for later once you feel confident.

Suitable fabric options include:

  • Lightweight denim (you will need a denim needle)

  • Pin cord (fine corduroy) (use a size 100 needle)

  • A firmer cotton or cotton blend for structure

  • A linen blend if you’d prefer a softer, more relaxed finish

These trousers work best with fabrics that have a bit of structure, but you can adjust the feel depending on your fabric choice.

  • 2inch elastic for the waistband. Enough to fit around your waist measurement.
